Building futures, empowering communities, creating opportunities
Dyirranga Ltd was established in September 2021 with a clear vision: to create meaningful employment opportunities for First Nations youth through electrical apprenticeships. Our name, "Dyirranga," reflects our deep connection to Aboriginal culture and our commitment to community empowerment.
As a registered charity operating across New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria, we have grown into a trusted organization that bridges the gap between aspiration and achievement for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth.
What sets us apart is our holistic approach. We don't just provide jobs – we provide pathways, support systems, and mentorship that acknowledges the unique challenges and strengths of First Nations communities.
To provide employment opportunities and enable First Nations people to become qualified electricians through comprehensive apprenticeships and dedicated mentoring support led by First Nations Directors.
A future where First Nations youth have equal access to meaningful careers, where cultural identity strengthens professional success, and where communities thrive through economic empowerment.
Cultural respect, excellence in training, holistic support, community connection, and creating sustainable pathways to independence and success for all participants.
A comprehensive, culturally-informed model designed for success
Our program is led by two experienced First Nations Directors who understand the cultural context, family dynamics, and community connections that shape our apprentices' lives.
Full electrical apprenticeships that meet industry standards, combining on-the-job experience with TAFE education to ensure participants gain recognized qualifications.
We support apprentices not just in their work, but with TAFE studies, family pressures, and personal challenges – recognizing that success requires support in all areas of life.
From first day to qualification and beyond, we create clear pathways to sustainable employment and career advancement in the electrical industry.
Experienced leaders who understand both the industry and the community
Our organization is led by two dedicated First Nations Directors who bring both professional expertise in the electrical industry and deep understanding of the cultural and personal challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth.
This unique combination allows us to provide mentoring that goes beyond technical skills, offering guidance, support, and role modeling that resonates with our apprentices' lived experiences.
Their leadership ensures that Dyirranga remains true to its mission while maintaining the highest standards of training and professional development.
Our head office is located in Cromer, NSW, where we coordinate operations and provide support to apprentices across the state.
